He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (with honors) from UCL and earned his Master\u2019s and PhD from the University of California, Los Angeles. He contributed to the 1989 revision of the International Phonetic Alphabet and has worked as a forensic speech analyst. He is co-editor of the CUBE pronunciation dictionary. Aunque probablemente sea m\u00e1s conocida por ser coeditora del *Cambridge English Pronouncing Dictionary* (CUP, 2011), tambi\u00e9n es autora de la obra dirigida al p\u00fablico general *Your Voice Speaks Volumes: It\u2019s not what you say but how you say it (OUP 2019), coautora de Hong Kong English (EUP 2010) y coeditora de The Cambridge Handbook of Phonetics (CUP 2022) y del Oxford Handbook of Language and Prejudice (OUP 2025), entre otros. Her research publications focus primarily on speech prosody, investigating pronunciation and phonology in global English speakers and in children with speech and language differences.
