Geoff Lindsey es profesor honorario de Lingüística en el University College London y director del curso anual de fonética inglesa de la UCL. Geoff Lindsey is Honorary Professor of Linguistics at University College London and Director of UCL’s annual English Phonetics Course. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (with honors) from UCL and earned his Master’s and PhD from the University of California, Los Angeles. He contributed to the 1989 revision of the International Phonetic Alphabet and has worked as a forensic speech analyst. He is co-editor of the CUBE pronunciation dictionary. Geoff has lectured in countries including the UK, Germany, Italy, Finland, and Japan, and has also enjoyed a successful creative career as a screenwriter, writing television episodes for the BBC and for the film Magic Piano, which was shortlisted for an Academy Award.

Jane Setter es profesora de fonética en la Universidad de Reading, Reino Unido. Aunque probablemente sea más conocida por ser coeditora del *Cambridge English Pronouncing Dictionary* (CUP, 2011), también es autora de la obra dirigida al público general *Your Voice Speaks Volumes: It’s not what you say but how you say it (OUP 2019), coautora de Hong Kong English (EUP 2010) y coeditora de The Cambridge Handbook of Phonetics (CUP 2022) y del Oxford Handbook of Language and Prejudice (OUP 2025), entre otros. Sus publicaciones de investigación se centran principalmente en la prosodia del habla, investigando la pronunciación y la fonología en los ingleses globales y en niños con diferencias en el habla y el lenguaje. Jane es miembro del National Teaching Fellowship de UK Advance HE y defensora de la participación pública en la investigación y del trabajo en colaboración con los estudiantes.

Although she is probably best known as co-editor of the Cambridge English Prolingual Dictionary (CUP, 2011), she is also the author of the general-interest work Your Voice Speaks Volumes: It’s not what you say but how you say it (OUP, 2019), co-author of Hong Kong English (EUP, 2010), and co-editor of The Cambridge Handbook of Phonetics (CUP, 2022) and the Oxford Handbook of Language and Prejudice (OUP, 2025), among others. Her research publications focus primarily on speech prosody, investigating pronunciation and phonology in global English speakers and in children with speech and language differences. Jane is a National Teacher Fellow of UK Advance HE and an advocate for public engagement in research and collaborative work with students.
